Pupil Parliament Visit to the Capital

By 28 March 2025No Comments
On Thursday 20th March, 8 of our Pupil Parliament members visited London as part of our West Midlands Pupil Parliament group. After travelling to Willow Brook Primary, our GST school in East London, we journeyed into London and had a tour of Parliament.
We sat in on a debate in the Houses of Commons and Lords, and then took part in a workshop exploring the journey of a bill. We even met the MP for Chivenor, Paulette Hamilton, who shared her journey to becoming an MP and talked about her roles in Parliament and what how she wants to use her role to make her constituency a better place.
The next day, we again travelled into central London and visited some famous landmarks such as 10 Downing Street, the Cenotaph and Trafalgar Square. We were even lucky enough to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.
Our Griffins had a great time and behaved beautifully. They followed instructions fantastically and listened well and asked some really pertinent questions. They also mixed well with the Griffins from our other West Midlands schools and built on the friendships they had already made.
