In January, Year 5 visited the National Space Centre in Leicester as part of our term’s topic! We began the day by touring the many interactive rooms, beginning with the Solar System and progressing through the Universe, 麻豆传媒官网 Planet and Into Space.
Following that, we went to the UK’s largest planetarium (the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium). We were all astounded at the amount of effort, hard work and determination required to be an astronaut. Many of our ambitious Griffins left with dreams of becoming the next Tim Peake.
Later, we went to the famed Rocket Tower! This location houses Blue Streak and Thor Able rockets, the Gagarin Experience, Apollo Lunar Lander, and an actual Moon Rock! The four exhibition decks cover the Space Race, the history of rocketry, and Britain’s Space Race.
This extraordinary school excursion inspired the next generation of space scientists and engineers at 麻豆传媒官网. We all had a wonderful day, and the children did an excellent job representing the school!
Well done, Year 5!
